Claude Meets Your Health Data — Talk to Your Body's Numbers
In January 2026, Anthropic added native support for Apple Health (iOS) and Android Health Connect inside Claude. This means you can now hand Claude your daily step counts, sleep records, heart rate readings, and workout logs — and get back natural-language analysis and charts.
"How was my sleep last week?" or "Am I exercising more than last month?" Claude answers with visualizations and explanations.
What You Can Do
Here's what becomes possible once you connect your health data:
- Sleep analysis: Trends in sleep duration, deep vs. REM sleep ratios, bedtime and wake-up patterns
- Activity tracking: Step counts, calories burned, and active minutes compared week over week or month over month
- Workout review: Heart rate zone breakdowns, training frequency, and recovery insights
- Doctor visit prep: Plain-language explanations of lab results, and a list of questions to bring to your next appointment
- Health trend reports: Charts showing how key metrics have shifted over time
Note that Claude provides insights only — it does not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatments. Always consult a healthcare professional about medical concerns.

Example Conversations
Once connected, just ask Claude naturally:
User: Summarize my sleep trends this week
Claude: Here's a look at your sleep from March 6–12.
Your average sleep duration was 6 hours 42 minutes,
about 20 minutes less than last week.
Wednesday and Thursday you went to bed after midnight,
and deep sleep made up only around 15% of those nights.
[Chart: Sleep stage comparison]
Your weekend sleep looks solid. Getting to bed just
30 minutes earlier on weekdays could meaningfully
improve your deep sleep percentage.
User: I have a physical exam next week. What should I ask my doctor?
Claude: Based on your recent data, here are some things worth raising:
1. Your resting heart rate is up ~8 bpm compared to last month
2. Your HRV (heart rate variability) during sleep has been below your baseline for several weeks
3. Post-workout recovery time has increased slightly
These could have lifestyle causes, but your doctor can give you proper context.
Privacy and Data Protection
Anthropic designed this feature with privacy first:
- Not used for training: Your health data is never used to train Claude models
- Granular sharing controls: Choose exactly which categories to share
- Easy to revoke: Disconnect at any time from Settings → Integrations
- Minimal data transfer: Processing is kept as local as possible
Looking back
Claude's health integrations turn the numbers you've been passively collecting into genuinely useful personal insights. Whether you want to sleep better, optimize your training, or walk into your next doctor's appointment more prepared, this marks a meaningful step toward AI as a true health companion.
If you're a Claude Pro or Max user in the US, the beta is live — give it a try. For those outside the US, stay tuned for the international rollout.
